I was born in 1970, so I don't remember much about the '70's. I was too young to understand much about the political stuff going on, but I remember everyone's parents struggling with the recession. And the music I grew up listening to is still close to my heart.
I guess my best decade over-laps the end on the '80's and beginning of the '90's. Music was changing (the rise of hip-hop and grunge), and so was technology (cell phones, the Internet, video games). It was a time of economic prosperity and relative political peace.
Course, I had no kids then, no responsibilities at all, really. I made a ton of money, and had a ton of friends. I spent my time at parties, in clubs, and went to hundreds of concerts.
Good times, definitely, and I wouldn't change a thing.

70's. The music and lifestyle was amazing. The 90's sucked and I like to pretend the 80's didn't happen.

The 90's
I got to see all of the Grateful Dead shows that I ever saw during the 90's!
Until Jerry died August 9th, 2005 :(
That was the most fun ever, going to the shows.
Sunshine, daydream,
walking in the tall trees,
going where the wind goes
Blooming like a red rose,
breathing more freely,
Ride our singin', I'll walk you in the morning sunshine
Sunshine, daydream. Sunshine, daydream. Walking in the sunshine.

Personally, I like the 90's. It reminds me of my childhood. And it's not so agressive like today. Also, I think that the songs from the 90's are a bit more close to the heart.

I say that the '90s decade was the best because what can beat the decade that the Internet was created in?
(a cure for cancer would beat it, though)
