Seriously, put the seat down when you're done going!
Why are guys so dense about that?
I have 3 boys and they usually put it down when they're done, but my ex was so ignorant! He used to say, "we've got you outnumbered! If anything, you should be leaving it up for us!"
There is nothing more gross/annoying then falling in the toilet when you have to take a half-asleep pee in the middle of the night !

Is that the reason why he is an "ex," by the way?

I am not sure if this helps, but on behalf of the entire male gender please accept our sincere apologies. So sorry we pissed you off on all those sleepy nights.

Um, now do I get your vote for the best answer?

Ooh! Now you've hit a nerve. When my husband and I got married, I found out the
hard way, that he didn't put the seat down. Fell in!! Kersplash!! Anyway, it opened
up a rather silly contest. He would put the seat and lid down for me if I left the
seat up for him. So, I put a quarter on the back of the lid, then I wrapped the seat
in nice paper and a bow--in the up position. We had more laughs over that. There are a lot of ways of handling it and the way I chose left us with a lasting
laugh. We now have 2 washrooms---his and hers. That solved the problem.

I know what you are talking about! I am pretty young but all the bkids in my family ,3 girls and 1 boy, have to share one bathroom and every time I go in after my brother he leaves the seat up and he doesn't even try to remember!!! It is the same thing with my dad!

Ew, sorry girl. I hear ya, even my DOG is a boy.

The solution we have is to close everything after we go; put the seat down AND close the lid. Everyone has to lift at least the lid and everyone has to close it BEFORE they flush.

My thing is this, I better hear the boys go pee, hear the seat and lid closing, and then hear the *flush* or they're gonna get it!!

To me,I have always left the toilet seat up.I guess it was just a force of habit.Even when I was single & alone.I guess you can say growing up with 3 sisters may have something to do with it.

Leave the seat up?? I don't even leave the lid up!! My wife says that's just as frustrating under the above circumstances, and having been caught myself, I tend to agree.

I'm glad my husband is considerate enough to put the seat down. But then he is out-numbered with me and my 2 daughters. He'd be in serious trouble if one of them fell in the bowl... and even worse trouble if I fell in....lol

My hubby is well trained. We have to put the lid down at home because the cats have been known to jump without looking.
