I finally watched the entire 1st season, and caught most of the 2nd season and I am waiting for it to come out on DVD but I really hope they are going to make a 3rd season. Has anyone heard? I read something that said it was really expensive to make which made me beleive they probably wouldn't make another but I was just wondering if anyone has heard otherwise? Thanks!

Season 2 was the final season of Rome. I find it disappointing that HBO is pulling the plug on a lot of great shows due to cost. You would think they knew the shows would be expensive from the get go.

I doubt it, besides the expense of producing it, Octavian ruled for like another 30 years after he defeated Mark Antony, ushering in the Pax Romana, where there were like no power struggles, so just sitting around and watching Octavian run Rome doesn't seem too entertaining to me. So, I doubt they'd do a third season...too bad though.

A 3rd season would be great. I have really enjoyed this series. It is one of the better series HBO has produced.

I believe they are done, it was a two season story...
the final episode was a 'series finale' not a season finale...
great show... would love to see more, but, it could be ruined by taking it further.

They just killed a main charachter in the last episode i saw this sunday, so maybe not. I hope they keep making it b/c its my favorite show.
In wikipedia it says its final season.

I think they are done. It's too expensive to produce. I saw that the series finale has been shown.
