It will all come down to who has the best go to guy and we all know for a fact that Dirk is not a closer he defers to lesser players. Hence when they lost to the suns recently. But mostly he has a history of fading. If history runs its course the mavs will have a great record while watching the NBa finals at home. Sad but true.

Actually the Mavs are plenty good enough this year to beat anyone in the league. However, if they do fall to one of the great teams in the West it wouldn't really be choking. The Spurs, Suns, and even Jazz and Rockets are all teams that would blast through the East with no trouble. Losing to one of those teams would be surprising, but the matchups are closer than you think. No one's untouchable.

Dirk will win MVP and the mavs probably won't lose more than two more games in the rest of the regular season but they just aren't dominant enough to beat many playoff caliber teams during a seven game series. They will probably lose in the first or second round. With teams as good as Denver and Golden State it wouldn't be suprising for them to lose in the first round

You only hope. I know Avery will not let this happen. The Mavs all the way. Dirk season MVP and Finals MVP. Dallas Mavericks NBA Champions in 2007.
