Housing looks dead. Oil has had a big retracement. The gold stocks appear stalled. Some of the energy stocks look poised to make a run but nothing has really started yet.

I don't know about sectors, but there are a lot of interesting stocks. Take a look at PPL, GME, MIR, HMSY, MFW, MTN.

In my opinion, it is better to look for individual plays and get in on one for the short-term run.

I think because of global warming, alternative energy is the place to invest. I like wind energy in particular. Here are my favorites:

i'm no expert, but i would say metals and commodoties because of the growth in India and China.
And as you are suggesting, I would say some new greener energy resources but its too soon to say which are going to catch on. Its not ethanol so just forget it, however corn prices have risen lately.
