I use a wireless router for my laptop, which is connected to my roommate's computer. I think he may have connected the two computers together, in such a way that he can view my activity/files. I need to know how to find out.

If you have the file sharing enabled on a windows laptop, It is possible.
The best protection is to not share any directories on the laptop.
You might be able to find evidence in the event log.
For OS X and Linux this is unlikely.

If you want to check what files are shared then go to start->
run -> type cmd ->and then type this 'net share' without the quotes and you can see all the shared files and folders on your PC and you can disable sharing on them.

If you want to disable the file and printer sharing completely then you go to start -> control panel and -> click network setup wizard and click next and follow the prompts and on the final screen it gives you two options and select the 'Turn off printer and file sharing on your pc' and no one will be able to share you files anymore.
I hope that helps
