"well." i know it isn't outwardly smart-assy; although, people don't seem to know how to react to proper english. many see it as a cold and distant answer. how about this; "a lot better after you leave." "soon to be better" "cold, tired, and bitchy, any other questions you need answered?" it is always smart-assy to answer a q with a q.

I would respond, "I'm simply great!" Sometimes a sincere response will trigger more of a reaction then any other.
