Cystic fibrosis is a genetic desease. It is autosomal (not sex-linked, which means that men and women have equal chances of gettin it) that causes mucus to build up in the lungs. A person suffering from cystic fibrosis has a hard time breathing and usually dies quite young. It's most common among Catholics.
