okay i have heard that it is common to get dizzy in the 2nd trimester. but i am 33 weeks (i'm getting close wahoo!) and yesterday i was having SERIOUS dizzy spells! and they were usually just when i was sitting or laying down...not doing anything and BAM! i'm not really congested or have plugged ears so i know it's not an inner ear thing. has anyone else experienced something similar to this so late in their pregnancy??

it is normal.
i have it too (currently 37 weeks prego)

my doctor said it could be because the baby is pressing on a vein that runs down your body....causing blood flow to be less than optimal.

it could also be because your blood vessels dialate due to increased hormones.

take it easy!

I am not in my 3rd trimester, in my 2nd, but I was at the doctors today and I also have been experiencing dizzy spells... Doctor thinks it may be because my iron is a little low, but also said that its just something some pregnant women experience. I hope this gives you some peace of mind and best of luck to you and baby!

Your blood sugar level is getting low. Instead of eating 3 meals a day, eat 6 small meals spaced out during the day. That way your eating every 2 to 3 hours and your sugar levels can't drop. I had the same problem and as soon as I started eating smaller more frequent meals, the dizziness went away.

The baby may be laying on the siatic nerve or could be putting pressure on a number of veins or arteries that are cutting off blood flow. Just sit down, and give the baby time to change positions.

i'm not really sure. i am also 33 weeks and i occasionally get dizzy spells also, but laying down usually makes them go away. i would talk to the doc about it next time you see him. just take it easy and drink lots of water. make sure you are eating well.

along with the suggestions above which are good, I would also advise more red meat, I know your iron has not been low but I found that there were times I just needed an extra bit, you can also add extra yogurt into your diet.
