Some people take their babies when they are a few days old, but you should probably wait until they are at least 3 months old. We took our baby girl swimming just yesterday and she really enjoyed it (she's 31/2 months old), just make sure that they are protected against the sun, and that you have a firm grip, else they can be very slippery. There are also tiny floats that you can put them on, but never leave them alone or they can tip and throw your baby in the water. Hope this helps!

From what I understand, babies are actually born with a natural ability to swim! So you could technically take your baby at any time! But I would wait at least a couple of months, a very young baby is still trying to adjust to very simple things in his new life! So it would probably be a little more enjoyable for the baby after a couple of months. Best of luck to you!

usually about 3 months of age. They have classes for parent/tot swimming where I live and they say about 3-4 months of age is appropriate for infants.

You can take them any time. I would wait until they are about a month old. I took my son when he was 2 months old. My mom took me when I was 2 weeks old. You just have to make sure you can hold them tight enough without hurting them. They get slippery, especially with all the sunscreen you have to lather on them. :)

wow good question my son is 10 months and we haven't taken in swimming once which is such a shame because we live in hawaii but i intend to teach him how to swim i think it will be easier onces he walks because he will be more stable and confident rather than me just carrying him around. he's very independent and likes to do things himself like me when i was a child!
