My high school offered no second language. However I grew up in a neighborhood of New York, where you could easily learn Hindi, Urdu, Swahili, Mobutu, Russian, Mandarin, Japanese, Spanish, Greek, Punjabi, Telugu, Pushtu, Farsi, Arabic, English, Dutch, Masai, Portuguese, Mongolian, Thai, German, Latin, French and my favorite; Nepalese.
Namaste!

I remember that mine offered French and Spanish. Offering Spanish made sense because we were so close to Mexico, but I never got why they offered French.

Stay in school kids.
