It is safer that you do have a repeat c-section. You can have a VBAC (Vaginal birth after Cesarean) But i wouldn't want too. Good luck!

No you won't need one the second time around. The vast majority of c-sections are medically uncessary, which is why many major urban hospitals have -section rates between 40 and 45 percent, and yet top-notch midwife clinics have rates at around 5 percent, with similar outcomes for mom and baby.
But you should have a clear understanding of "what went wrong" last time around and devise a plan to prevent it this time. Think about the following:
Did you have an early epidural (these can stall and slow labor)?
Did you get induced (this can lead to c-sections oftentimes)?
Were you too anxious and tense and failed to dialate (you can learn relaxation techniques)?
Was the baby in a bad position for delivery (you can look into postures for optimal fetal positioning?
You can take steps now to prevent a repeat of whatever went wrong last time.
Most importantly, you need to find an OB or midwife who is supportive of vaginal delivery in general and VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section.) Take a Bradley natural childbirth class to help you prepare yourself. Your local Bradley teacher will know of good doctors who are supportive of VBACs
Do some reading on VBACs.

You will unless you carefully select your next caregiver. You need to first select a hospital that allows VBACs, then choose a caregiver that practices in that hospital.
Some women have reported on the boards that their doctor has pulled a bait-and-switch. Told them all through the pregnancy that a VBAC was fine and then said, nope, you need a c-section. Some of these women dropped the doctor and went to a different one and sure enough, had their VBACs. I would bring this up with the caregiver you have at the beginning.
In my case, I had a c-section for my first pregnancy and although I planned to have a VBAC, I have had to drop that goal due to a medical condition.

Depends why had section last time, it is possible discuss with your doctor or midwife. Personally been advised to have another section this time, as I don't even want to tr after my experience, last time. But if it's what you want go for it, some people feel cheated by a section I was just relieved it was all over, had my section under general this time i'm gonna be awake. Goodluck in your quest. I was just speakingto a lady today who had her first by section then another 3 vaginally.

There are risks but it can be done. Talk to your Dr about how high the risk is-where you were cut can spilt open, I think its only like a 2% chance but I can be very serious if it does. Talk to your Dr about Why you had the 1st c-section. did you not dilate? ask him what are the chances you will have the same problem. That was my problem and my Dr told me more than likely I would have the same problem.
I ended up having 2 c-sections, the 2nd one was scheduled so It wasnt as bad as the first
best of luck to you

It first of all depends on the reason you had one first time round, if it was because you are too small to deliver naturally it may be you need one again however if it was due to other reasons such as problems with the pregnancy or position or baby or problems such as being a labour a long time, then they may offer you what is called a trial of labour. I had a c-section first time round with my twins but second time was able to deliver normally.

Depends on the hospital and your doctor - alot of times neither will do a VBAC, so once a c-section, always a c-section. I'd talk to your doctor if a vaginal delivery is something you are interested in!

no, not unless you encounter the same problems from the first c-section like i did.
after a 1st c-section they will try to get you to do what is called a V-BAC. Vaginal birth after c-section.
but...if you have had 2 c-sections (like me)....it is hard (almost impossible) to find a Dr. willing to try a vaginal birth. I am having a 3rd c-section in 2 weeks.
hope youre healing well! it takes awhile to feel "normal" again....took me like 4 months after my first one :( the second one was much easier.

If you can find an OB-GYN who performs V-BACs (vaginal birth after cesarean), then you may not need another c-section. I am 33 weeks pregnant with my second and found a wonderful OB who is not making me get another c-section but is allowing me to try a V-Bac. Good luck!

I had a c - section the first time I gave birth. 11 months later I gave birth again, but this time naturally. Your monitored the whole way through incase of scar rupture, but unless anything goes wrong, you should be fine giving birth naturally.

Nope you can have a normal vaginal birth next time around. A few of my friends had vaginal births after having c-sections. Everything is still okay down there don't worry
