Well he just needs to get used to u and u do not want to cut his teeth instead get him something to chew on to make his teeth file down. You can name him Chewy. First get some food then try to give it to him then when he takes it pick him up with both hands cupped together and pet him softly not roughly. I have had 4 hamsters and it does hurt when it bites just wash your cut off and put a band aid on it.
WHATEVER U DO DO NOT PICK HIM UP BY HIS TAIL OR HIS SKIN.

I've had a couple of hamsters. What you need to do is get him used to you. You can start out offering him treats from your hand. That way he'll associate your hand with treats. Also, if his teeth are sharp, get him something to chew on (wooden chew sticks and the like). If he is white with brown spots, then he probably looks a little bit like a cow. So, I say "Cow" would be a good name for him (and funny too).

Remember..you are very big and your hamster is very very small. Don't make any fast movements, speak in a soft voice..they frighten easily. To let him get use to your hand, just put it in the cage but don't move it, let him get use to it being in his cage. You can put a treat in your hand and let him take it from you or he may sit in your hand to eat it. Besure to give him fresh veggies, carrots, apple, grapes, etc. and clean out any fresh food he doesn't eat after a few hours. And the bedding should not be cedar or pine, use a product called Carefresh, you can get it at your pet store. You can give him a small cardboard tube { toilet paper type }, he'll crawl in it and chew it up. Have fun.

To get him used to you,Let him smell your fingers through the cage and then give him a treat.Once he's used to that,Put on a thick glove(gardening glove is best) and hold him on your hand with a treat then eventually take the glove's off.The same with your lil brother.

New hamsters need time to adjust to their new surroundings. Make sure he is in a quiet spot so he can get used to his new surroundings. Speak to him quietly and gently. Use your hand (freshly washed, but not with a strong smelling soap- they dislike that and may nip) to introduce his food or a treat.
He will get used to you. Many pet-shop hamsters are not used to human contact, but with some tlc, he will come around.
Good luck!
