I recommend TDAmeritrade too. If you deposit at least $2000 you will get 45 days of free trading. Thats major because you can save potentially hundreds of dollars on commission fees.

Also Ameritrade has pretty much same features as E-trade and slightly cheaper trades (9.99 vs 12.99)

The downside to TDAmeritrade is that unlike Etrade they do not offer their own dividend reinvestment. If you invest for long term, this is very crucial.

Etrade lets me reinvest my dividends for free on any stock that offers divs.

E*trade and TDAmeritrade are both good.
I prefer TDA, I used E*Trade and others before.
If you do open an account with TDA, put down my account number as referral. They will credit me 5 free trades.

I would go with Scottrade. All trades are only $7, market or limit orders. I have no complaints with them.

Use TRADEKING.com. $4.95 trades and they allow option trades.
