I play High School Varsity softball. Last night the batter bunted the ball and it went foul but the runner took off and our catcher threw down to 1st. the ump called a free base for the runner bc she was in jeprody, wat is this? luckily our coaches challenged it and they had to go back bc the ball went foul. but wat is a jeprody call?? i need details.

The umpire was wrong. If the ball was foul, then it became dead when it stopped in foul territory and the baserunner was not allowed to try and move forward.

the umpire either does not know what he is doing. There is no such thing. Also how was that runner in jepordey unless the catcher does not know how to throw
