must be nice! I would bring it to their attention becuase if and when they catch it - you will most likely have to pay it all back.

They may have some type of separation package. Payroll could have just forgot to take your name off the rolls. It would seem that your salary is coming out of someones budget and they will catch up to it sooner or later.
Depending on the size of the company, they may just want to forget about it. A lot of supervision would rather give you the money than to admit they made a mistake and have to justify it to their bosses. They figure, it's better if they just hide the error and it will go away.
Some companies however go the other way, and they will want their money back. Just like you, if you ever paid a doctor's bill, you would want your money back.
I wouldn't spend it, but instead invest it and should you be forced to return the money, you'll have it to give.
If you are drawing unemployment, the government could get involved and claim fraud, you don't want the Fed after you.
I would call and find out why you are getting the money, get it cleared up. You may need these guys for a reference on your next job.

I think we all know the 'morale' thing to do here, fact is, do you want to do it?
As someone else said, if you need them for the future it is wise to keep them on the good side, if they're a small business, I think it is even more crucial that you do the right thing.
If they're a big business, keep the money rolling in, put it into a separate account, don't spend it.

Maybe because they haven't taken you out of the "system" or off the payroll yet, but four months is more than enough time to get you off the payroll, but that's their mistake not yours.

fantastic. This happened to a former colleague for a year! He didn't declare it and it got written off!
Just keep quiet and save the money in a high interest account. IF they ask for it back then fair enough.
They've basically forgotten to take you off the payroll...

Don't spend it. When they figure it out they're going to want it back and they'll sue you to get it if need be.

Did you leave voluntarily, or were you laid off? You may be receiving severance pay.
Otherwise they are just dopey. :)
