I found out the month before last that I had miscarried. Last month I had a regular period. This month I am 10 days late. I took 2 HPT one last night one this morning and they were both negative. I was just wondering if it is normal for your period to be messed up after a miscarriage? I have always had a regular period before I found out that I was pregnant. Then I started bleeding and bleed for 38 days. When I went to the doc he said I was miscarrying. We are still TTC and I am going to the doctor next week but my nerves are shot right now and I was wondering if it was normal. Thanks! (sorry for the rambling)

Yes, it's normal for your body to be a little messed up after miscarrying. Stay calm. It's a very stressful thing to go through, and if you give your body a little bit of a rest, next time will be easier.

I've had 4 miscarriages, and one beautiful baby boy.

No sweety you're not rambling. I had a miscarriage 8 months ago and whenever I need to talk about this topic I still wonder if I'm rambling my feelings out.

1st of all, so sorry for your loss.
2nd. What happened happened, you can't change it, what you can change is how stressed out you let this get you.

Cycles do go crazy after one miscarries. Look on the bright side, you once had a regular cycle, chances are it may go back to your regular cycle after a few crazy ones.
I never ever had a normal cycle so my cycles are ALWAYS crazy, now that's tough! So, don't worry too much about the cycles, just focus on what you can do productively.
Dont take more stress than you have to.
Hope I helped.

So sorry for your loss. I miscarried in Dec. Did you know you were pg? How far were you? 38 days is a really long time to bleed, esp if you mc'd early. Something about that isn't right. You should not have bled for more than 2 weeks. It is totally normal to have messed up periods after a miscarriage. Mine went form 28 days to 35. Stress alone can delay or stop ovulation, which will make your period late. If you were far along, you will take longer to get back to normal. Your doctor will probably recommend waiting 2-3 months before TTC,so you can heal and grieve and get your body back to normal.
There is a really good support group for TTC after miscarriage on IVilliage. Here is the link, feel free to pop in!

I lost my son Nov 9th 2006 @18 weeks and my period is still not back to normal. The first three months were REALLY off.

Doctors normally recommend waiting 3mo after a 1st trimester m/c and 6 months after a second trimester mc before ttc.

Rambling is fine. I'm sorry for your loss. I think that it might be normal but since you are going to the doc next week, I'd relax and just make sure I asked about it during the medical visit.
