insert disc in CD drive, but there is a disk there. We can play his music CDs bought from the store, but nothing else. Then, we tried putting the DVD into his Sony DVD player and received msg no data to read. On my computer I can open both CD and DVD. We both have a Dell. What is happening? Did I do something wrong buring both? Or is it his computer. I went out and purchased DVD and CD RW... I would like to try again but afraid to waste more disks pls help!!!!

After Doing the Disk Burn, you Usually need to finalise the Disc burn; SOMETIMES if you don't finalise the burn, some other PCs cannot read the disc.
Just One thought.... Can your Boy Friends PC read other Data discs Okay? Also, can the PC read regular Movie DVDs okay ?

It can be tricky...especially if you don't know what you're doing. What you might wanna try is to use something like Nero and create a slideshow. if you have Vista, or certain upgrades with XP, you can create and burn a slideshow onto a disc and they should work in a regular DVD player. As I am unfamiliar with your computer or programs you use, this is all the help I can offer. Hope this helps!!

When you eject the disk from your computer you have to make sure that you select the option for the disk to be able to be read from other computers. This will vary from program to program.

I have a Dell, also, and it does a lot of weird, unexplainable things. Perhaps making sure that you both have the same software, such as Nero, would help.

Your PC and his are incompatible. You may have written it in a different format than his will accept.
