It would be easier to list who the British haven't fought than list those they have.

Portugal is Britain's oldest ally, but I believe that was the result of a treaty after a confrontation. In Europe we have fought all the major nations, France Spain, Germany, Italy and in Russia during the Revolution as well as Crimea. Sweden and Denmark where defeated at the battle of Copenhagen, oh and we had quite a spat with the Dutch around the same time.

Around the world we have fought the U.S.(revolutionary war and a later war) Canada (subjecting the french and a battle in Quebec) China (boxer rebellion and opium wars) Japan, Korea, South Africa (Boar war) Australia and New Zealand (against the native populations). Argentina.

These are just some of the major wars, there have been countless conflicts just about everywhere, so you need to start a list of which countries Britain has not fought. It is not very long.

Going back to roman times i can think of the Romans then when the abandoned the island in about 410 it was raded by Germanic tribes. The viking invaded from about 793 onwards so thats the scandinavian people, (mainly danes). When we had our kings we fought against the welsh, scottish and Irish and the 100 year war with France.
Because of Henry VIII we had any enemy that was a catholic because he made himself the head of the church of England so i know that was Spain. During the Napoleonic wars we fought France and their allies which were quite a bit of Europe but dont know all. The Crimean war was against Russia and the Boer war was against the Dutch. We fought against the koreans and the argies in the Falklands war. We fought against the Indians when India was in the Empire and also against the Americans when they wanted independace. Germany, Turkey and a few others in WWI but it was the Autro Hungarian Empire then and not loads of countries. Egypt was another one when they closed the nile. China when we had hong kong in our Empire. Japan in WWII. If we include any country we fought against to gain our empire then we have had most of the world as our enemy. Hope this helps... any more info needed then just ask.... Nearly forgot.. Iraq

England and the United Kingdom have had wars with virtually every country in the World at one time or another. Our most consistent enemy throughout history has been France.

A lot if you go back far enough. Romans, Celts, France, Germany, Russia, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, America, Argentina, Iraq, there's a ton more...

The Irish gave them the worst trouble

if you want a list of everyone Britain ever fought the list would be huge. it would include enemies in well known wars like Germany in WWII or Argentina in the Falkland island War. You need to specify a time period

Zulus, Boers (South Africa) - 1870's
Germany (1914-18, & 1939-45)
Italy
Spain
Japan
Denmark
Norway
Sweden

The list COULD go on for a LONG time, yet, - unless, you are prepared to be a little more SPECIFIC!
