I have a family member who was in prison from '59-'65. I know what the charge was and I would like to get more information on the case. I had a 'falling out' with the only family member who would be able to give me more information. Is it possible to get records from the court for that far back?

Yes, those records have to be retained. Some states have their records computerized and some even have the records available on the internet.

Believe it or not, many court records have been updated and computerized. Maybe this is on line.

Look up your county web site, and start digging! Maybe you can find it here, or at least find information on how to get it. Good luck.

If you know what county this person committed the crime in, youcan go to that court house and request a copy of the documents. You can also do a search online at that states government site.

Go to your local library and search there or you can actually call the state they were incarcerated in and give them the last name and first name and the years they were incarcerated. Good Luck!
