just last night i started hearing this weird clanking noise coming from the front right side of my car.. i tried some tests on it to try and figure out what it was comming from, and this is as far as i've gotten...

It only happens while the car is in gear. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th (all of them). when shifting back to neutral, the noise stops right away.

any ideas on what it could be coming from? im guessing something with the trans...but i dont know what.

Have the CV axles checked as well as the throw out bearing and motor mounts.

truthfully sounds like vapour lock or a gas line issue. can be a free setting up sucking air someplace (in line gas filter out in all likelihood), can be a issue with the go back line to the gas tank, could also be a defective gas cap inflicting issues. That age vehicle could have one or many causes.

sounds like the throw out bearing on the clutch. Bring it to a tranny shop and have them check it out.
