I think it should still stay legalized...if they outlaw it, it will still go on, just not in a sterile safe environment. I do think people make the decision way too easily. I agree that it should be considered only under extreme circumstances, not just because it is an inconvenience. About 30 years ago I was raped and became pregnant as a result. My mother was terminally ill and dying at the same time...I was 20. There was absolutely no way I could bring a child into my life at that time, I had to take care of my dad, and my two brothers, and the household, and a full time job. Before all the self-righteous people judge others for aborting, consider their circumstances, and walk a day in their shoes.

I personally think its an easy way out, for someone that was irresponsible. If a woman needs it because she cant medically have the baby, thats different.

But to each their own. I know its not for me. I know many will say everyone has a right to chose, I'm sorry but I feel this choice should be made for before a life is created, Meaning Birth control............. Not being careless and then , just getting rid of it because its not what you wanted.

I think that the legality of abortion is a legal issue and the law states two things: 1) You can't force someone to undergo or not undergo a medical procedure for the benefit of another 2) The fetus is not a person

You can't alter either of these rights without taking away fundamental rights that none of us are willing to give up.


As for the morality of it, that is another issue.

The only time I would consider appropriate is for a rape victim & even then, it's a little disturbing. I don't believe in abortion as birth control. If you don't want kids, don't have sex or use birth control. If an "accident" happens, then deal with it. If you are mature enough for sex, then you should accept the responsibility that goes with it.

They are a natural right of the woman. They cannot be ended through law or custom. They will occur because they are the less of many evils. For example, by aborting one fetus that is unwanted in the US, the lives of 12 children can be saved.

I'm neutral. I'm against people using abortion as a type of birth control, but if they aren't ready for the kid, because they're too young, or were raped, I would agree with getting an abortion.

I think abortion is a very touchy issue; it is in a very grey area; neither black nor white, but I also think it should be a woman's choice as to whether or not it should be done. I'm not going to preach to you because I have done it in the past. It is one of those things you never forget, even 20 years after the fact. It is wrong when it is used as a method of birth control.

well I am all for elective abortions till 3rd trimester .at that point only done for medical reasons for mother or the fetus. Women have right to all reproductive choices from contraception to abortion to birth .

wrong question to ask most judge you just because you have asked the question. abortion is abortion some women will do it some will not. its every womens right to choose no matter what you believe!

if a womans life is in danger, or the child will be born with defects, or in rape or incest cases, then it is ok! other than those reasons, abortion should be OUTLAWED! and considered murder!! irresponsible sexual activity should result in the couple having responsibility to take care of child! by throwing a fetus out, these people are commiting moral law violations and legally should be jailed for life!!
