below my skin are being irritated. And every once in awhile (rarely), it feels like an electric current is going through my abdomen. The tingling last for about three weeks, then goes away, only to return a few weeks later. Any ideas of what is going on and what I can do (besides the obvious-go to doctor).

There is something that is placing pressure on your nerve endings and the only way to really find out what is causing it is to have a look inside. Unfortunately you need to have some diagnostic tests taken-three weeks is a long time.

Sounds like a mild form of acid reflux. It's sounds like it wants to come up and it's suppressed and tingling in your system.
Other than that I don't know.
