Frost's "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening"

16 lines, it rhymes, uses repeating lines and isn't too long, but has a great sound to it. Go for it!!!

Here it is:

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

Whose woods these are I think I know,
His house is in the village though.
He will not see me stopping here,
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer,
To stop without a farmhouse near,
Between the woods and frozen lake,
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake,
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep,
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

I know this is easy to remember, because I remember it :-)
It's from Emily Dickinson:

To lose thee,
Sweeter than to gain all other hearts I knew.
'Tis true the drought is destitute,
But, ah, I had the dew.

The Caspian has its realms of sand,
Its other realm of sea,
Without the sterile perquisite
No Caspian could be.

(In other words, I'd rather lose you than have anyone else, and there is no joy without pain.)

Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven" is what comes to mind first. It is probably one of the most recited and parodied. Even the Simpsons tv show did a show themed on it.
