I strongly recommend going directly with Disney or your travel agent to get the ticktes, for several reasons.
1). Disney tickets now expire 14 days after the first use, this means that, unless the no-expiration option is added on, the tickets will be no good several weeks or years down the road, but for the next 14 days. Most people don't purchase the no-expiration option, but people will still sell the tickets online that they have used, so you are basically buying an empty ticket.
2). Even if you are getting a ticket that still has days left on it, the tickets are non-transferable. Once you use your ticket the first time, you scan your fingers into a biometrics system so that only you can use that ticket. If you go to the park and use someone elses ticket, you will have to proove that you actually are the person on the ticket, or you will have to buy a new ticket.
3). Aside from the tickets just being a scam and you getting nothing for the money you spend, a lot of what you will find online is going to be a timeshare deal. Basically, you sit through a presentation, usually several hours long, and they will either give you free tickets or a lower rate, or something like that. This is not something I really suggest doing, but if you don't mind it, then it is a good way to get some free tickets.
When you are in Orlando, if you wait to buy your tickets, there will still be a lot of places advertising lower cost tickets. Most of these will be scams or the timeshare deal.
If you buy your tickets from Disney, or a TA, you will get an advance purchase savings. It isn't a huge savings, but it is something. The longer your pass is, the lower your cost is per day, and you can get them for around $30, plus any add ons you do. So, Disney does offer some pretty good rates for tickets.
Also check out Mousesavers, they have a newsletter you can sign up for and get info on discounts and things.
Finally, AAA would be another option. I believe you have to do a 2 or 3 day pass before they offer any savings, however. If you are not a member, make sure you check how much you would actually save and what the cost of membership is. The savings may not be good enough to buy the membership and still save.
Personally, I always book a package with Disney, just so I can ge the dining plan. I go to Disney enough that I could get an AP and be done with it, but I like the dining plan so much I just buy my tickets each time (even though I could have my AP and just buy a one day base to get the dining) So, if you will be staying onsite, look into doing a package. The dining plan can save you 40% off of your food, it is a really great deal and you get a lot of food.
Have a great time!

We just got back from Disneyworld the 18th of March. We had a 'reunion' trip. I spent more than $2,000 on passes for four families. I searched and searched to get the best deal, from a reputable company. Three other families trusted me to get the passes, so I had to be very careful.
I used undercovertourist.com. They were totally legit, and much cheaper than buying from Disneyworld direct. I called Disney, and asked for a discount for buying so many, but they said no discount, that's not many tickets. This was our 6th trip to Disney, but the other families had never been.
We got 3 day hopper tickets with 3 FREE EXTRA DAYS (they shipped us 6 day hopper tickets). The passes were all brand new, unsigned, unused tickets. There were no string attached, no timeshares to view. I paid via their website with Visa, and I received the passes in one shipment, just as I ordered. We paid (INCLUDING tax) $244 for an adult 6 day hopper pass. That was less than a THREE day hopper from Disney (Disney's website prices do not include tax).
I will be honest. I held my breath (a little) until we got through the gate the first time. The passes surely looked legit and all brand new (they were), but you never know. I was pretty sure, because someone had recommended them to me, as well.
We used all six days of the passes, and had a wonderful vacation. I will definitely order from these folks again. They shipped quickly and gave me a great deal on passes. They have Seaworld and other tickets too, but we didn't need any of those.
They are totally legit. Just be sure to order in time to get your tickets before you go. Once you activate the ticket the first time, they do expire in 14 days (as any Disney pass does that doesn't have the non-expire option).
We could have added on that non-expire option, or water park options, but chose not to.
You can get the tickets now, and as long as you don't activate them, they won't expire. The prices can go up at any time, so you might save a few dollars doing that, if you have the money to do it.
I hate paying more than I have to for something, so I was happy to get a deal on the tickets. The other families were pretty excited to get the extra free days, too.

The most reputable site to purchase tickets is Walt Disney World. You can purchase them over the phone with them at 407-W-Disney :)

If you are a member of AAA Auto Club, you can buy them at any of their offices at a discount. It really helps to have your tickets in hand to avoid getting in long lines at the Disney gates.
Have fun!

You can go straight through the Disney site or you can shop around for discount tickets. I found a few sites that you might like.
