I wear a 38DD, stand 5'1/2" and was denied by my insurance company to have a breast reduction. I've been attending physical therapy and have to take muscle relaxers on a regular basis because of the cramps around my shoulders and neck. I know of a few fat ladies who have had breast reductions simply because they are overweight and lazy. I WANT to exercise like running, jumping etc. but I can't because of the size of my breasts and because it causes me to have backs spasms. The surgery would keep me from going to physical therapy and keep me off of the muscle relaxers. Seems like it would benefit the insurance company for me to have the surgery.

Actually with "fat women", depending on the insurance company they will not approve it until they lose weight, depending on how much you weigh. Just because you got denied is no reason to insult others. (FYI I am not a "fat woman" and I got approved in a heartbeat)

Make sure you start sending them appeals through your PS. Your physical therapy and muscle relaxers should be more than enough proof to get a reduction. Bring proof of that to your PS if you have not already.

There is an insurance forum at http://www.breasthealthonline.com that can assist you in appealing. Also the main support forum can help you out. Several women there got denied and are in the appeals part of their journey.

I wish you luck in getting approved. It will definitely benefit you.
