hi im a bit stuck on what a argument and a counter argument?
is it two people one for against the subject and the other for the subject.
plz help

An argument can be either for (pro) or against (anti or con) something.

A counter argument is against the argument. So if the initial argument was pro, they are con, and vice versa.

Contrary to popular belief, an argument is not a row.

It should be a learning situation where two folk express the experience and knowledge about a subject.

The counter argument will try to prove another view, not necessarily the opposite, it may be a different interpretation of the same evidence.

A basic rule of argument is when one denigrates the others argument or raises their voice, they have lost the argument morally.

counter argument

my argument might be to argue for free ice cream for all poeple.
your counter argument might be against free icecream because its bad for your teeth,
the argument is the first opinion,
the counter argument is against the first opinion
