I see these informercials on tv and newspapers all the time about real estate seminars workshops at different hotels and when you go, they want you to sign up and pay $2,000 - $4000 for 3 day bootcamp where they say they'll teach you stuff about real estate investing with no money down or forclosure short sales etcetera. Are these scams or do they really work easy like they claim?

They are not really scams, if you apply the knowledge you are taught it can be very lucrative for you. They have forms and scripts that you can use when buying from your clients.

Now what is easy? Nothing unless you know about the field in which you are working. Doing brain surgery is easy for a brain surgeon. Building a house is easy for a carpentry or construction person. So when you become versed in this field it will be easy.

Where most people say they are scams is because they go to the seminar, get the books and tapes. The books and tapes wind up in the closet or on a book shelf. Now I agree and most others will that this does not work. The books and tapes were meant to study and put into application.

Now the hype is that they say you can get money without using your money. This is true, but you have to have to have a source of funds from others that you can use. These people are called investors.

It take awhile to accumulate these investors, but again this can be accomplished.

If you go to your book store you will find books for about $16.00 to $20.00 telling you how to buy, repair (rehab) and flip properties. There are many books you may purchase on the subject of buying and selling distressed properties.

I hope this has been of some use to you, good luck.

The point of these are sound but only if you have money already and are willing to gamble some. Basically they get their thousands knowing that a very few will be able to carry it through. They prey on people who do not understand that the hard won $4000 is better invested in mutuals and such and grows slowly.

If it was so easy to buy real estate would not everybody be doing it? And one could become educated about all of this by reading and doing research..... $4000 buys a lot of books.

Just look at answers. Full of scams in every category offering something. They only need a few suckers to make money.

be very careful.. They came to Trinidad and Tobago and after I setup my LLC through them, I can t even get a bank account opened which I think is basic... They claim the investing can be done remotely but probably that was not very truthful, some of the information will be useful, but of course you will have to spend lots more before you get anywhere... I have been working hard on this since Dec 2014 almost every night going to bed at midnight or after, buying this and that... and nothing and they don t sound rude to you openly but just don t care... .Doug Clark 1997US which is $12780.80TT)

Well I saw the same thing here in Atlanta, only it wasn't for $2000, but only for $400, but I emailed for more information, and they said it was to only pre-qualify me for the real estate board. I would have to do even more classes after I become pre-qualified after I take the test after I finish the pre-qualifying classes. Basically it is like a big vacuum to get you started into their world. I am interested but i'm not financially ready yet at this point in time.
