First you need a high speed internet connection and wireless network card for your computer. If your computer is a laptop, the wireless card may be built in. Then, buy a wireless router (Linksys is cheap and popular) and plug your high speed internet connection into the back of it.
Then you'll need to associate your computer with the wireless router. In the bottom right hand corner of your screen (system tray), you'll see an icon that looks like a computer screen with beams coming off of it with a red 'x'. Right click that icon and select 'view available wireless networks'. If you bought a Linksys wireless router and didn't perform any additional configuration, you'll see a wireless network named 'linksys'. Highlight that network and click the 'connect' button.
At this point, you'll have an 'unsecure' wireless network. I'd recommend looking into making it secure.

A wireless router is not like a typical modem based item. the first thing you have to do is set it up their can be two different types but a wireless router you will probably need a broadband connection such as DSL or Cable baed internet services. after this you can plug the coard that will plug into your computer via ethernet port into your router and the first computer will need to be plugged in directly into main PC. after you have done this you will need to configure a wireless network on the PC. after this wireless devices shall be able to pick up the router and hook on to the signal coming from the modem from the cable line or DSL line. thus your router works correctly. :))

First, you have to check did your PC got installed chipset on the motherboard for wireless communication and do you have installed appropriate software for it. Second, you can use router via phoneline and network card (LAN) installed on PCI slot on motherboard in your PC (in this case you need and splitter). Different between router and modem is in double possibility of performances (100Mb/sec or 10 MB/sec), and you can use him and like a ordinary modem. But for any variante you have to install software from CD you are get with router. And don't forget to visit adress http://emienco.freehostia.com You'll find some funny and relaxation things there.
