For one thing, a "cheap" weekend package will be relative to other weekend rates. It will not be cheap. To get cheap you have to avoid special events, large conventions and weekends.

I have always found I can save money by booking the room and air separate, but then again, I plan ahead and am willing to do the research necessary.

The first two almost always have the best rates

This site has links to every hotel/casino in Las Vegas. You can go to each site and either input your dates or check out their rate calendar. Many LV hotels will send you e-mail specials if you take the time to sign up.

we go to LV 2-3 times a year for 2 weeks or more at a time and have for over 20 years. By necessity we have learned to keep the cost of our trips to a minimum.

I go to Vegas 2-3 times a year. And we are moving there this summer. And whenever we go there, we use this site.
They have packages and I suggest you call them instead of booking online, as then you get guaranteed confirmation and a discount when you call them. It's a great site, and I have also found that it's the cheapest, without sacraficing comfort.
