Yes because at 36 weeks the baby is considered to be viable, that is the lungs will be mature enough should it happen before term.

Between 36-42 weeks is considered full term. If you are worried about delivering early and you are at 36 weeks try to relax.. My daughter was born at 34 weeks and she was able to come home from the hospital the same day I did.. She was very healthy, and active.. As for the whole 10 months thing. They count the pregnancy from the first day of your last period which adds 2 weeks to the pregnancy.. So if you are 4 weeks conception then your pregnancy would be counted at 6 weeks gestational.. They count the weeks not the months.. Since there are more or less then 4 weeks each month it really works out on it own... I hope I helped you and not confused you.. My husband gets confused when I talk about this...

Yes 36 weeks is okay. It actually hasn't changed to 10 months it has always been that way. Pregnancy is a total of 40 weeks long, so going by a month is 4 weeks you are 10 months pregnant(very confusing). But at 36 weeks the baby is considered fully developed and therefore you are full-term

A pregnancy last 40 weeks, so for the last few weeks you are 9 months and one week, 9 months and 2 weeks, and when you deliver on your due date you deliver at the 10 month mark. If you are lucky enough to have a baby past your due date, you would have delivered 10 months and so many days.
As for the safety of the delivery of a baby, it is best to let nature take its course. Some times the baby is born early they can be healthy and breath on their own at 37 weeks. If they are born earlier than that, they may require intensive care with a respirator. Every baby and evey delivery is different. If you do suspect that you will be early and require intensive care, it would be worth investigating your hospital, and see if they are albe to care for an infant born too early.

Technically you are pregnant for 40 weeks or 10 months however you wanna say it. It's ok to deliver at 36 weeks it's just better for the baby to have the extra 4 weeks to develop their lungs. Some doctors will induce you at 36 weeks because you're full term.

Typically yes, my doc said I would be ok to deliver at 36 weeks, but ultimately it depends on well developed your baby is. The lungs are one of the last things to develop, so the longer the better. 37 weeks is actually full term though. Some even say 38 weeks depends on how you look at it.

I think you saw a mistype. 36 weeks is still a preemie. 38 weeks is considered term. Pregnancy is dated from last menstrual date. None of this has changed!!

At 37 weeks, 5-8% of babies still do not have mature lungs. That should be a clue! In many hospitals, if not most, if they want to deliver a baby earlier than 38 weeks, doc is required to do an amnio to be sure baby lungs are fully mature.

40 weeks = 9 months, not 10. (there are usually 30-31 days in a month, which is more than a flat 4 weeks.)

Pregnancy is actually considered full term at 38 weeks, though by 36 weeks you have a great chance of delivering a fully developed, healthy baby. ) You can also go to 42 weeks and its ALSO totally normal.

It is safe to have your baby at 36 weeks but most doctors want you to go to at least 37 weeks. The longer the baby is in there the healthier s(he) will be. It is better for their lungs. But if for some reason you can't wait than yes it is safe.
