I have a friend who seems to like me, but other sources say she is uncomfortable around me. If she would have come out and said she didn't want me around her, I would have respected her request. But I can't get her to tell me the truth.
What should I do?

look, don't look at what others say
its not their opinion that matters
its hers
well, just go and frankly ask her or send hera letter explaining the facts

If the lady not feel confortable around you, and only around you (but beware of rumours), it might be many things: difference of ages? she is too shy to tell what u fear to hear? She can be leaving u hanging if she doesn't have better. Apparently, you love her, but if it comes out to be true that she is unconfortable with u, then just do not insist! You may get more harm than satisfaction.

Investigate the true source of her discomfort it could give you an answer. Maybe she is trying to be polite, don't fault her for that. Its rare these days. It may have to do with something good or it could be not so good. Maybe she has conflicting feeling for you? Hope this helps.

Don't really rely on what other people say. Maybe you should just ask her. Maybe not straightforwardly, but in joke kind of way, you know, like you don't mean it, but you actually really do. Or maybe you could ask her if she doesn't like you, and tell her that you'd scram if she was uncomfortable when you're around.

Take one step at a time slowly and when she will get ready she will tell you.

if you really are her mate you will trust her and not listen to others.
if you dont like this idea go and confront her you might have done something to upset her and she may think what your thinking about her.
