YES YES YES IT IS!!! Bacteria are ubiquitous. For example, they are in our stomachs aiding in digestion, and protecting us from foreign organisms. They live symboitically with us and it is only when a certain kind of bacteria is growing in a certain place where it should not be that it becomes dangerous and pathogenic. Aside from human interactions, they help with the fermentation process that produces the beers and wines we drink. Bacteria are used in countless studies. For example, genes can be integrated into the genome of a bacterium like E. coli and expressed to produce a protein which is then purified and studied. Genetic studies of E. coli have greatly increased our understanding of how genes work. Jacob and Monod used E. coli to discover the workings of the Lac Operon. Bacteria are the origin of life on earth, as can be seen in our genes. For as Monod once said, "what is true for E. coli, is also true for the elephant."

1.In industry, bacteria are important in processes such as wastewater treatment(is the process of removing contaminants from wastewater, both runoff and domestic by Anaerobic digestion it is a bacterial process that is carried out in the absence of oxygen and Aerobic digestion
it is a bacterial process occurring in the presence of oxygen. Under aerobic conditions, bacteria rapidly consume organic matter and convert it into carbon dioxide.)

2.In the production of cheese(Bacteria acidify the milk and play a role in defining the texture and flavor of most cheeses) and yoghurt(a dairy product produced by bacterial fermentation of milk. )

3.and the manufacture of antibiotics and other chemicals.

4.Probiotics are dietary supplements containing potentially beneficial bacteria or yeast, with lactic acid bacteria (LAB) as the most common microbes used. LAB have been used in the food industry for many years, because they are able to convert sugars (including lactose) and other carbohydrates into lactic acid. This not only provides the characteristic sour taste of fermented dairy foods such as yogurt, but acts as a preservative, by lowering the pH and creating fewer opportunities for spoilage organisms to grow.

Probiotic bacterial cultures are intended to assist the body's naturally occurring gut flora to reestablish themselves. They are sometimes recommended by doctors, and, more frequently, by nutritionists, after a course of antibiotics, or as part of the treatment for gut related candidiasis. Claims are made that probiotics strengthen the immune system

Yesssssss
1. Decompostion of organic matter returning fertility to soil
2. Bacteria on plant nodes help restore atmospheric nitrogen to soil-nitrogen fixation(i think some examples are nostoc & rhizopus but not tooooo sure)
3. In our stomach and mouth for digestion
5. Fermentation- varios products are methane, alcohol, etc
6. Lacto Bacilli form curd from milk- lactic acid makes it sour
And more, and more, and more
