Why should they put you a line in for free? Pay, like the rest of us.

If the neighbour's line was put in while you've been the property owner without your permission, tell 'em to remove it. Be careful though, if it's been there some time a court, if it came to that, might consider your case to be "vexatious", i.e you're playing the "sour grapes" card, and they might throw it out & award costs against you.
If it was there when you acquired the property, then tough, I'm afraid. It'll be viewed that a previous owner gave consent.

No BT dont have to remove anything & if you cut the line you could be done for criminal damage. Its easier just to pay for a line yourself.

If the wires are on your property, they should be paying you for it. (They don`t tell you, they wait for someone like me to tell you!) My brothers` family home has two telegraph poles situated in his garden. BT have to pay him 5p per year for each pole total 10p a year. It must cost BT £.50.00. a year to send the 10p to him ( they have to cover stationary, labour postage etc.) Even if the wires were there before you moved into the house, they still have to pay YOU rental for them, get in touch right away and tell them you want the rental back dated to when you moved in. Anything else you can negotiate your-self with them. But don`t fall out with your neighbour, it is not his fault.

i would think this depends very much on whether you gave prior permission for them to put the line on your building or if it was there when you moved in.

if it wasnt there on moving in or you didnt give permission id bet you can get it taken down.
tresspass to property is tortious and you may have a "per se" civil case. no damages but acknowlegdement that your rights have been infringed.

Bt charges everyone to connect their phone. Why not just pay and stay friendly with your neighbour?
