What did the round table look like?

It was not too ostentatious, but was made of wood with different inlays---like in pool cues.

There is no consensus for the number of knights who joined Arthur at his Round Table. Malory's version gives twenty-six, representing the twenty-six-day rotation rate of the Sun's equatorial magnetic field.

In other versions there are nine knights, the highest number that can be reached before becoming one with God.

Well, assuming that Arthur was 1 real person, and not just a name given to pretty much any viking warrior during that time, and that he actually had an actual table that he and the Knights sat around, and given the technological development and fashions affecting furniture making at that time, I would surmise that it was round, of unplained timber but likely polished in some way, treated with a wax finish and held together with wooden pins. Probably quite large and knights must have been pretty big guys to lug all that armour around though one assumes they didn't necessarily wear it to the table.

There is actually no proof that the round table is nothing more than a legend.

But if it were real it would have been made of wood and large enough to sit many, many knights around it. Some may feel that is was just a plain round wood table while others
may feel it was richly decorated (coats of arms etc).

Well.. I'd guess that it was made of wood and that it had a flat topside and something like either legs or a pedestal to support it's raised surface. In other words, it probably resembled a "table"... and gee whiz, it might have been somewhat rounded, too.

And now, let me ask one of you... Who's buried in Grant's tomb?

(Gosh, what a stupid question.)

Itwas believed tobe round so there would be equlity between those seated. No head or foot seat to indicate superiority.

It was round! Seriously, it was huge to allow all the knights to be seated. It was divided into segments, one for each knight.
