Yes. The women I know with the name are in their early 40s and spell it Gaye.

Gayla is a pretty popular name too, with the nickname Gaye. I personally wouldn't choose it for my child. SD

Yes, it means happy but nowadays is been torn apart to mean something else entirely. That's why I like Gaea much better, tis a shame people have to do that. Why couldn't they think of another word.?
