I loved that movie because it was true to the original comic and was made with that intention. The sequels were terrible because parents complained that the original was too violent hence we get a performance from Vanilla Ice. Is the new movie strictly for kids? Or can old school fans enjoy it as well?

What does 'TMNT' stand for?

I was looking forward to it, didn't disappoint. I love all the turtles cartoons from years and years ago and all the movies before this one. I didn't realise it was going to be animation movie, so was a bit shocked at first. April is a cartoon not a person (it's done solely in computer-generated imagery - thats what i read afterwards). There is some volience but it is the turtles, but not too much. The second half of it is more or less the same kind of plot as the original but the beginning isn't. great movie overall

for douglas TMNT is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Technically it is a sequel to the previous three live action movies. This is confirmed at the end of the movie when Splinter is looking at his shelf, on which is sitting:

-Shredder's helmet from the first movie
-The broken canister of Ooze from the second
-The Time Scepter from the third

However, it also mixes a little bit into the current cartoon series, especially the character Casey Jones.

Personally I liked the live action movies way more, but this one was alright. It brings the turtles back to the big screen.

I'm an old school fan who grew up with watching the original turtles TV show. No, I don't think it's a remake of the old 1990 movie, since Shredder is not in it. It's supposed to be a modern tale and we catch up with what the turtles are doing now. I enjoyed it.

No. The ooze is supposed to be from outerspace or something.
