I run a little bleach through a short wash cycle (with no dishes inside of course), this keeps it smelling fresh and clean. :)

I use a product called Lemi Shine; it's used along with dishwasher detergent to get dishes really clean and shiny. But it also cleans the dishwasher and makes it smell fresh. I don't use it every time I run the dishwasher, maybe about twice a month. Lemi Shine is especially good in hard water areas and is environmentally safe.

If you have hard water deposits, try using vinegar in a wash cycle. There's a drain at the bottom, usually in the back that collects food scraps and that needs to be cleaned out on a regular schedule, all depending on how often you use the dishwasher.Check your manual for more info on the drain.

I just cleaned mine with one of those new sponges from Brawney. Cleaned everything off the door and sides. Plus I put a very small amount of bleach in once a month.

You might want to try the new jet dry dishwasher cleaner. It is supposed to be good at removing lime deposits.

find a bowl that will fit under your bottom arms when they are turning, fill it with clorox and add dish soap (not a lethal combo) and run a hot cycle, no dry, open and let air dry.
Just do it if the dw smells ugly.
