No, your chances do not increase.

What the studies actually say is that for the 1 out of about 300 women who do become pregnant as a result of tubal failure, the chances of THAT pregnancy being ectopic is high (about 30%). I've included two links that explain this. Tubal failure appears to depend on the age of the person when they have the procedure and the type of procedure.

The main thing to know here is that if after you have a tubal and you THINK you might be pregnant, assume that you are and see a doctor immediately.

Please note that tubal failure does NOT mean that your surgeon made a mistake or did the surgery wrong. Biological systems try to thrwart whatever you do to them.

yes its true atleast thats what doctors say. i had a tubal ligation done after i had my 3rd daughter in june 2005 and i am now 33 weeks pregnant with twin girls and at the begining of this pregnancy my doctor was concerned that it could end up a eptopic pregnancy but thank god it didn't.

No, if your tubes are tied, technically sperm cannot reach the ovaries so you should not get pregnant at all. Mistakes happen but they are extremely rare.
