I am looking into going in to get a brazillian bikini wax. I was wondering who out there has had this done?
How long did it last before you had to go back?
Was it Painful?
Was in embarrassing to have someone do it?
How long did your hair have to be to go in?
Was there an inbetween stage in the summer where you needed it done but the hair was not long enough so you ended up having to shave it or wear a cover up over your swim suit?
How often did you have it done? one a month? twice a month?
Any info would be appreciated! THANKS!

I had to get mine done twice a month. The hair doesn't need to get too big to go back, maybe a half or a quarter the size lenght of your eyebrow's hair. Going the first time is a little embarrasing, but once you go there and see that it's not so bad. The second time try to ask for the same person since that will most likely make you feel more comfortable. It is painful, YOU'RE RIPPING HAIR FROM THE ROOT, so it hurts, but as time goes, you become acostumed to it and it no longer hurts as bad. It all depends how resistant you are to pain. Some people hurt more than others.

If you want a little tip, I suggest you save up a little bit of money and go get laser hair removal. It was the best investment I could've done; not having to worry about hair EVER.

full brazilian waxes are really great and comfortable for summer. i usually just shave during the winter, but splurge on waxes every summer. some places call the "brazilian" when they leave a small strip of hair above your labia, and refer to the complete wax as a "hollywood" wax.

it lasted a few weeks and looks much better than shaving. if you have dark hair, you'll notice that even when you shave and it feels completely smooth, you can see the dark root of the hair on your skin. the wax leaves just your skin, and you won't have to deal with next-day, two-day stubble.

i definitely felt it, and if you can imagine what it would feel like to be waxed down there, you're probably imagining accurately. the key is not to go when you're on or around your period, which is when you'll be the most sensitive to pain. if you have about a week's worth, or maybe two weeks worth of stubble, you should be okay to go. it would be extremely painful if your hair is long and grown out.

it wasn't embarassing, since it's usually done by woman, and she wears latex gloves while doing it. you have to remind yourself that you're not the first one they've done it to, and that they trained to do this as their career. you definitely have to be comfortable with your own body, because they will most likely contort you into all sorts of positions to get all the hair out from the innermost labial folds. you'll probably be in your socks, and pressing your foot against their hips, or be asked to hold your own skin taut while they wax. they will definitely be in your intimate space, so make sure you go into remembering that.

if you feel like the growing in-between stage is annoying, and you're going to be in a swimming suit, maybe just shave your bikini line, but save the rest of the hair for the wax. but try as much as possible not to shave so that all the hair that you want gone is available for pulling!

in the summers, i'll probably do it every one month to two months. the cost should be roughly between $45-$70, not including tip. check with the salon you choose to see if they have a Maintenance schedule. sometimes, they'll offer you that $45 price if you set up your next 6 appointments.

also, make sure you find a legitimate salon with a good esthetician. don't go to some acrylic nail chop shop that has a $15 deal and will wax you in the back of their business. a good salon will give you a robe, and sometimes a disposable panty so that while they wax one side, your other side isn't completely exposed. this sometimes helps women who aren't completely comfortable with spreading their legs open. ask around and see if anyone has any recommendations, and before you set up an appointment, feel free to ask if you can speak to the esthetician over the phone and ask any questions.

best of luck and have a great smooth summer! :)
