I am a person that likes to have things documented...I would probably mail it with delivery confirmation and talk to my boss about it that same day...that way he knows it is coming and when he gets it he isn't pissed because you didn't talk to him...of course I also am big on just talking to the person and not avoiding that kind of stuff....unless of course you are quiting because your boss is a jerk...if that is the case and you think he will be ticked off either way then maybe he hasn't earned the respect to be forewarned.

The best way is to be direct. Ask for a meeting with your boss or supervisor and present them with your letter.

If you are a good employee and they want to keep you? They will have the opportunity to make you a offer to stay. If not, they will most likely tell you to get out.

make it into a paper airplane & launch it in the office & just walk off!

KIDDING!! Never do that, it would seriously burn that bridge. Be very professional about the whole thing. I would handle it in person. Talk to them about your decision, & give them the letter to make it official.

I would take it to my superior and personally hand it to them in a professional manner.
