The best way for it not to hurt is not to do it yet. She should at least get to know her own body that well before letting a boy know it that well, if she really wants to see what sexual pleasure is like, get a toy! Fact of the matter is though, if someone has it in thier mind to do it, you cant change thier mind, all you can do is make sure they are prepared i.e. condomn. Oh and make sure she knows that she will remember her first partner forever, and is this guy really somebody who she will want to always remember.

if she relaxes, doesn't get too stressed about it and tries to enjoy it, then she should be fine
Tell her not to expect too much, first time sex can be a bit different from what you might imagine.
What I find amazing on here is the fools who are having a go at her for saying it might hurt. That actually shows her maturity and that she knows what she is doing, she's obviously done some research and has thought about it. 16 is not too young for sex, but it is too young to be a mum.
Hey Rachael, perhaps if we took your advice, there would be no-one left on the planet to read it!
Yes you might get an std, but you can get one at any age 16 or 60!!!, bad things WILL NOT happen.
What will happen though is a very pleasurable experience that millions of people are doing right now. It's natural and it's healthy.

look my sister used to have alot of sex before she came to live with me, now i make her watch my kids everyday,(i work nights so i need the sleep) she see's what a result is from having sex. now she see's how much of a handful kids can be. the best birth control is kids. oh and you should go to a book store and buy a book about nothing but VD. you are going to need lots of pictures, that help scare them a little bit from wanting to be touched. the more pictures and more baby-sitting they'll come to see that sex is not a game. just remember that sex is a very special thing that two people share. there's a time and place for everything. if your cousin has a good head on their shoulders than have faith that they'll do the right thing. again explain everything to be careful of.
i got showed the VD book when i was 12yrs. and i didn't loose my virginity until 18yrs. the pictures scared the hell out of me. i hope that i helped at least a little.

Ok, I'm confused. You called your cousin's mother and asked what?? Why would your cousin's mother tell her you had sex early? Did you have a baby early? Or have a STD? It doesn't make any sense that an adult would tell a child how soon another child had sex, unless there's a lesson for her to learn from it.
Tell your cousin that she's not ready for sex. If her main concern is that it will hurt, that speaks to her level of maturity, or rather her lack of. Ask her why she wants to have sex. Let her know the repercutions of having sex- how it affects you physically and mentally.
I had a younger cousin ask me about oral sex before. Based the questions she had, I could tell that she wasn't ready for sex. We as adults have a responsibility to tell kids the truth and give them room to grow up and make mistakes. Be honest with her.

Okay, first of all, who cares about who had sex when or why. DO NOT HAVE SEX!! Do not have sex because you are only a teenager, you are in control of your own body. If you are going to disrespect it, bad things will happen. You could get pregnant, get an STD, etc. This person you would have sex with won't even stay with you for the rest of your life. Do not have sex!

There's no way to stop her. The only thing you can do is educate her. Give her a list of all the consequences that can come along with having sex at such a young age, and make sure to tell her, if she decides to go through with it, to use protection. NO GLOVE, NO LOVE.

Tell her to use a condom. Also note that sex isn't perfect. Plus this guy she wants to have sex with can just be using her for it. A lot of things can occur, however it's normal. Just make sure the guy hasn't slept with too many other girls, STD's are growing out there, so be very careful. Tell her to watch out for herself.

Well, there is no way to stop her.
You can just tell her that normally, it will hurt less if you wait for the right person, at the right time, in the right circumstances, with less stress. Tell her that if she isn't ready it will hurt much more.
Edit : Tell her that you wish you had waited. tell her that you got more than you bargained for.

i think you should tell her the consequences about having sex. i'm 16 right now and i think having sex at this age is way.. too young. also tell her that she would maybe wait after she's married so that she will be able to experince it in an in intimate way with her special somebody in the future.

Well if she's living with you then she has to follow your rules. She has no buisness having sex at 16 unless of course you marry her off to a guy who will provide for her. Then she will only have sex with her husband.
