I agree with both of the above - depending on what you are selling and how much you intend to get for the item you can promote your listing loads and boost traffic to your site.

Without knowing your particular listing I would do the following in this order.

Checkout pulse.ebay.com or pulse.ebay.co.uk to see what people are actually searching for and use good search keywords in your title and description.
Ensure you accept PayPal
Create an "About Me" page
Remove any counter on the page - if the product has been listed for a while with few visitors it could put others off!
Ensure you have a professional looking listing - use a good template there are lots of free ones online.or pay for an eBay listing designer.
Check the spellings throughout your title and description
Ensure you have a picture on your listing
Ensure your listing is well written
Add a Subtitle
Add extra pictures if it is necessary to really show your products
Don't charge too much for postage but be realistic
Start with a realistic bid price - being too high can put people off
If you have had previous buyers then send them a nice email explaining that you now have other items for sale - you might get repeat business.
Add a returns policy
Promote in a second category (if applicable)
Pay for gallery picture (so people see the picture in their search)
If the cost of the product is high enough then consider some of these additional promotional tools: Use Bold, Border, Highlight, Featured Plus! or Gallery Featured (all come with a cost)
Look into creating a Classified Ad

All that should help, if you need more help check out my website below for a free eCourse on better selling.

Check other listings for similar items to the ones you are selling to see what keywords the sellers put in the description field that shows up when you do a search on Ebay. People can't look at the stuff you are selling if they don't find it when they search. Using thorough descriptions is a great way to get more hits.

One of the KEY things you can do to improve the amount of visits to you items for sale is in the Heading.

Be sure to spell everything correctly and include any key word\s that potential buyers might search for.

For example, if you're selling a Digital camera be sure to include DIGITAL and CAMERA in the heading. Would also include the Make & Model Number as well.

The transport value will fluctuate based on the shopper's area, transport provider (precedence, parcel submit, exhibit etc), and/or length of merchandise. in case you do not have a scale to weigh the article (or in case you are able to not make an approximate wager of the burden) you are able to continually seek your merchandise on amazon which provide you a product description which ought to contain the burden. next, interior the transport section-enter the burden, equipment length, and transport provider. consistent with those aspects the usps or united stateswill calculate your transport expenditures (yet confirm to contain any coping with expenses for envelopes or etc. if that applies). additionally, in case you purely choose to can charge a flat value--which ability you elect to can charge a flat value in spite of equipment length or shopper's area you will possibly be able to realize this. purely elect flat value transport. yet be clever-- see what others are charging for comparable products for transport. wish that facilitates.
