Mainly breast milk or formula.
100% juices are also okay in small amounts (less than 4 oz per day), and I agree that you should water them down quite a bit.
Citrus juices are not recommended for children under 12 months old.

I actually had the same question. My dr suggested only two ounces per day of juice. So, I just gave small amounts of apple juice and water. However, I exclusively breastfed. So, I didn't add much other fluids. When I was teaching to use sippy cups, I just put in water or apple juice diluted with water. You could also use formula or breastmilk.

Water. It is amazing how much little ones like water. I have always given my goddaughter water and her mum always gives her juice. The result is that little one will not drink water at her mums but she will drink it at my house and will ask for it above juice, even when she sees her "favourite" juice on the side.
Another friend of mine always give her kids water and that is all they want to drink. When I babysat them recently I offered them some of my cola (they were staying at mine and their mum said it was fine) but they both said took one sip and said they watned water instead. They are 3 1/2 and 2 1/2.
Best of all, it's cheap!

Juices are good and so is purified water with extra flouride. Kool-aid is not recommended for the sugar content. Stay away from teas for the caffiene.

formula or breast milk.

Maybe by about 10-11mo I would do 100% fruit juice (but watch what kind.. between allergy problems and diarreah buying juice can be a science) and mixing it 1/2 and 1/2 with water.

At 9 months he really doesn't need anything apart from milk or water.

but if you really want to give him something then try the baby juices that are around, be careful of real fruit juice as it's very acidic and also high in sugar.

also keep away from anything that has sweeteners in it, check the labels as you'd be surprised what contains them

hi juice..by robinsons...a lot of baby juices have MORE sugar than a lot of squashes...just read the label, and at 9 month, your baby can more or less eat and drink what we do, within reason of course!..dont give him a pint and a curry obviously, but if your diet is good and varied..its fine.
my children wouldnt drink just water, and milk is not thirst quenching.just use common sense and you will be fine

Avoid aspartame and asuflame and anything that is not natural. Fresh fruit juice of any kind if he likes them, but dilute them first. Avoid all sweet drinks.

water. milk. orange juice.

i think anything should be ok at this age, but watch for allergic reactions and don't give juice/soda more than once a day. or talk to your dr about it. i try not to give sugary drinks more than once a day. i don't give my kids soda unless it's a holiday or special occasion. nothing too acidic either.
