We always hear about poor old senior citizens wasting all their money on scratch tickets and are forced to eat cat food. Did any of them get sick or die from eating the cat food in the latest pet food mishap (the one were they found rat poison in the food)?

Funny you should ask, I read a newspaper article this morning about a woman in Toronto that got sick from eating the tainted dog food.

Her little dog had refused to eat the Iams wet food (maybe because he could tell there was something wrong with it??). So, the woman was worried, and ate some of the food to trick her dog into thinking it was people food. She did this for two weeks until she had to go to the hospital for severe vomiting, loss of appetite, and a few other symptoms that I think included foaming at the mouth (I'm serious).

Here's the article:

This would be an interesting question if it weren't for the stupid comment about "senior citizens wasting all their money on scratch tickets." Do you really think that's why seniors are forced to eat pet food?

nobody has reported any deaths... but if your that old and living on cat/dog food then i dont think you'd have money to spend on the wet food varietys which are usually pretty expensive compared to teh bulk dry kind. But i could be wrong.

And kidney failure in someone that old could be considered "natural causes" before you'd think of looking at their diet.

i'm sure we'll have to wait 56 weeks in order to hear about that what with autopsy reports taking ungodly amount of time to come back these days (think annna nicole lol). Autopsy report came back in over a month for her, so I'm sure the results of ordinary people are a LOTTTTTTTTTTTT longer than that lol.
