Walking is always the best! As long as you wear comfortable walking shoes and walk in a safe place where you are not likely to slip or fall or get into traffic, walking is a great exercise. You will burn calories with low impact. Lifting small dumb bells is another good way to strengthen your arms in preparation for carrying your little bundle of joy around! The body burns fat at a higher rate when it has more muscle mass, so lifting low weight dumb bells will not only tone and strengthen your arms, but it will build that fat burning muscle that you want!. Always check with your doctor, obviously, before starting an exercise program. I'm definitely not in the medical profession, these suggestions are just some that I found helpful for my body!

Brisk walking is great exercise when you're pregnant. You probably know to eat a normal, moderate diet - that story about "eating for two" is a myth. I watched my diet and walked a lot with my first baby, and after she was born I actually weighed 7 pounds less than I did before I got pregnant, and only gained 20 pounds during my pregnancy. So you see, you're not doomed to be in worse shape after the baby!

Eat for yourself. you really don't need to over indulge or anything just because your pregnant. you really only require 500 to 1000 more caloreis than you'd normally consume a day. Be active. don't get lazy. take those stairs. You don't need to do sit ups or anything just daily activities and maybe more walking and or leg exercises. YOu'll be fine as long as you don't eat for two like some say. good luck ps. breast feeding is a great new mothers diet plan, i got way smaller than i was before the baby and my baby got all the nutrients he needed.

Legally no professional advice can be given to you until you and your doctor have completed a Par Med-X for Pregnancy. After that, any health or fitness professional can advise you.
However, AFTER SPEAKING TO YOUR DOC, I'd advise something like a pre-natal exercise class, yoga is good. Just make sure it's pre-natal. The intensity is different, as you don't want to heat your own body greatly.

If you're already overweight, then you dont need/have to gain 30 pounds. Overweight women should generally gain towards the lower end of the range (20-25 pounds).
If you eat healthy foods and walk alot you should do just fine! It's those cravings that make it hard! (Doughnut, anyone? )

they recommend yoga for pregnant women. i dont know exacty what that does. but worth a shot? walking is great too...
just dont lift anything heavy!
but your best bet is to talk to doc right now to get started on a healthy pregnancy early. Stay away from sodas, fast foods and just "junk" in general and your pregnancy should turn out perfet ((considering there are no health complications))
CONGRATS AND GOOD LUCK!

try eating the right foods and walking. with all 3 of my pregnancies i found walking really helped when it came time for labor and the after (ya know getting back to size!). i gained about 40lbs with mine, but talk to your dr and see what weight gain is right for you. i wouldn't do anything too strenuous with exercising cause it can hurt the baby, but walking seemed to be really helpful for me.
maybe you can join one of the fitness centers for pregnant women. i never have, but i've heard that they are really good.
good luck and congrats!

You ought to try yoga. It's safe for pregnant women, and as you grow there are ways to adapt the postures to allow for your tummy.
Congrats!

walk til your legs fall off! No, i'm just joking about that, but being a big girl myself, hey... the weather is getting nice, at lunch time, take a stroll around the block or at nighttime, after dinner take a stroll around the block! :) trust me it helps! :)
