i took a pregnancy test this morning and it was a very faint positive. a few hours later i looked at it and it just looked like an evap line. when should i take another test? was it a positive or an evap line?

First of all, how many days past ovulation are you?
It could be an evap but then we can't see it to help you, so what i would do is wait another couple of days as your HGC levels will have doubled by then and you'll get a stronger line.
I can't honestly tell you, and I don't think you'll get much in reply to your answer as to wether it was an evap or a positive if noone can see your test. sorry.
However, stay positive, test again in 24 -36 hours or just go in to your ob/gyn office or med centre and ask for a beta blood test. They'll tell you straight away.
The instructions do state that it should come up within a certain time frame and NOT to make a decision based on any time after that.

I would say that if it is the same color as the test line only lighter then it was a positive test. If the line is grayish in color it is probably just an evap line. There is a website www.peeonastick.com that gives pictures of positive and evap lines on actual tests that others have taken, I would definitly say that this website will help you a lot! And one more thing, it's probably not a good idea to look at the test after the time limit....it gives you false hope, i know I drive myself crazy every month, maybe try the digital ones- a lot less stress believe me!

It really depends on when you actually saw the second line, if a second line appeared very faint right after you took the test then it is a positive, if it showed after 5-10 minutes then yes it is an evap line...I would suggest taking another test

You are like 99% pregnant LOL I know that sounds funny, but i would say without a doubt that you are pregnant. But here's afunny one for ya. My sister took a pregnancy test and nothing showed up so we assumed it was positive. She set it up on the shelf in the bathroom and forgot about for three days. When she went back and for some random reason looked at it before she threw it away there was a line there. So we went and bought another one and it was bright flashign positive LOL So wait a few days and take another test or just call you OBGYN or health department.

when i was pregnant with my daughter i had a very faint line--sounds like ua re pregnant. to be sure, take another one. you dont have to wait, until you need to pee again maybe. if it happens again, go to you doctor and have them do a test, but it sounds like u are pregnant, congrats!

congrats. sounds like a +ve to me. but repeat the test again the next morning with first morning pee. it should become darker if your are pregnant.
