Yes, if things keep going in this direction, we will end up in a cold war.
Let's just hope the West will win again.

Well, first off, let's hope it never comes to that. Secondly, if China backs away from the modernization and closer ties to the West that it seems to have been pursuing in recent years, and/or if future presidents take a confrontational stance towards China, I suppose anything's possible. But it would neither be to the benefit of this country nor of China, so again, let's hope that doesn't happen.

It started in the 50's with the Korean war. Nixon's diplomacy eased tensions in the 70's but with the resent issues with Taiwan and North Korea we have seen an elevation in the "Cold War with China". It is here and now with just a more "P C" term to describe our relationship.

It'll only happen if and when we move the manufacturing base out of China, to perhaps Mexico (where there's lot of cheap labor and the shipping costs are much lower). That'll hurt China more than it'll hurt us.

its already started...by the way china uses cheap labor, energy hoarding, import tarriffs on items from america, ...they dont wish to intimidate us militarily, they saw that didnt work with russia, so they are going about it in a different way...economically, and politically....think back to when clinton sold them and n korea our nuclear and military secrets for campaign contributions...also, who do you think is behind all the latin american countries and south american countries turning to socialism...??? as well as china now has control of the panama canal with a company that has a leader loyal to the communists in beijing, the panama canal being vital to americas shipping and transportation of goods and food, as well as military equipment.......as well as helping cuba with their military...ill bet you didnt know there are chinese missils on cuban soil now, did you..??? also, china is helping mexico with their oil industry, trying to get more of the mexican oil ....id say the war is on....
and to you fools who say that china is investing in america...id say back to you...doesnt that seem to imply that we are on the recieving end of their charity...which means if they decide to cut off that investment, and call back those loans and profits, that america is on the losing side of this situation,,??? since when has america needed overseas and socialist and communist investment ....???? basically, they are buying their way of government and slavery into america...and you liberals are helping them....
