For those people who are on a side that never lies(rolling eyes)just make it a hypotetical, imagine a situation where your side also lied. What's worse or troubles you more?

Tinker and some others, of course a lie is a lie but my question is what troubles you more?Someone who's suposed to speak or represent you lying or someone you are against anyway but who's lie if believed could hurt the cause you believe in?

Many good answers.I can't choose so I'm gonna leave this one to the voters.Deuce let me try this again in the open so anyone can see.I did report you and never denied it when you had your first two accounts. After that eventhough your input stayed what it was I stopped reporting you cos people close to me told me you were their friend(I'm a softie, what can I say?)It really got and gets me upset that even now,I don't know how many accounts later you still blame me when you get suspended. You're level one but already you have at least one best answer where you call someone a bad word(I think that word should be allowed but it isn't,I had Q&A removed when I used it on occasion).I never cloned anyone,I'm strongly against ALL trolls(part of why I admit to reporting) and harrassment is subjective. Some might find parts of my or your Q&A even harrassing.I never participated in a willing attempt to harrass anyone
Bottom line,I don't target you with reporting,if anything I would report you

a lie is a lie. Doesn't matter who tells it.

It doesn't matter, because when it comes to politicians, especially the high level ones, they only PRETEND to be on different sides. They are all actually working to further the agendas of the same elite, which is to create the NEW WORLD ORDER, and they only PRETEND to give a rats behind to what the people think or want. That is why they all lie. If we are lucky, maybe there is one incorruptible politician who will really champion the cause of the people and of the Constitution, and of the Bill Of Rights. If there is such a person, we had better stand together, and get him/her elected, if we can.....assuming the voting machines aren't still rigged....Regardless of which party, and hope he/she lives long enough to actually do some good!!! *sm*

I expect the other side to lie to me so I really hate lies from my own side. However, what troubles me most is that they lie at all. I can understand avoiding truths or 'no comments' in cases of national security (under a narrow definition of that term) but since about 1995, everyone has been living up to the old joke: "How do you know when a politician is lying? His/her lips are moving."

Intentional spin doctoring is a pain from either side. & yes they both do it.

(National security is the presummed question) 1st you will never know all the facts it is the nature of the intelligent gathering community. Much of the intel would appear to be of minimal value, but you are protecting a source. Truthfully you are protecting your availability to a source. Most collectors of information could careless about the welfare of their source. Their present & future information is what they care about. Now that we have that out of the way. We can talk.

I'm also going to acknowledge ALL Spin Doctoring is self serving at all levels. My answer totally depends on the individual item being spun not who is doing it!

Very good question. The answer is the lies on my side. I expect the worst of my opponents. So it doesn't surprise me at all when I catch them lying. However, when I catch my side lying it hurts my confidence in the cause I'm fighting for.

When both sides lie so much that the truth gets buried. Reason is lost in a two party system.

Lies from either side are counter productive. Both sides lie. Anyone who denies that has blinders on. It ultimately leads to a perpetual "gotcha" game that we don't have time for.

Sometimes you have to lie. I figured this out not to long ago. Sometimes it's a necessity, yup. IF you tell me you have never lied before in your life, i will assume your are lying.

Interesting... lies on my own side (conservatives) trouble me more. I expect the left to lie, they're great at it! But it disappoints me when conservatives lie. I feel like we don't need to stoop to their level, but the fact is smearing your enemy works better than boosting yourself.

What troubles me most is trolls who report answers they don't like, because they clearly cannot handle truth.

But, to answer your question, a liar is a liar, regardless of side. At this point, what troubles me more is how the other side handles its liars.
