Does the noise go away if you pull in the clutch? Is it louder or higher pitched as you speed up, or is it different with engine rpm?

I agree with everyone else so far, it's probably wind noise of some sort, either helmet, intake, or simply air moving over the fairing.

I've always loved that 'high speed scream' I get at high speeds on a small-faired sportbike :)

It's air blowing through that hole in your head for not buying a Harley...Just kiddin'.I have a cable on one of my bikes that whistles at certain speeds...I haven't figured it out yet but it drives me crazy.I think it's just the way the wind hits it.The cable is lubed and in good shape..Good Luck.

The air rushing through the air box makes that sound. Some other manufactures have made air box silencers to quell this problem. I think it sounds bad ***.
